Meet Dr. Steve Gorman
Dr. Gorman is a North Oaks dentist who has become a distinguished member of the dental community, not only throughout the Twin Cities but nationally as well. He has become a trusted source of information among his colleagues regarding restorative and cosmetic techniques and is judged to have a keen eye for the perfectly natural smile.
Learning is a Lifetime Passion
Dr. Gorman began his journey as a cosmetic dentist in the early 1980’s when the materials and techniques were being developed. He has traveled extensively, participating in many hands-on courses with other leaders in the field. Since the early 1990’s his practice has emphasized metal-free and mercury free general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Gorman lectures on the subject of cosmetic and restorative dentistry to both professional and public audiences with an emphasis on implant and full mouth rehabilitation with a natural appearance.
AACD Accredited Dentist – Why it Matters
Dr. Gorman is one of only nine American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) accredited dentists in Minnesota. His accreditation is a testimony to years of experience in complex dentistry, requiring a keen and exacting eye. As an extremely active member of the AACD, Dr. Gorman regularly attends exciting annual international meetings where the “best of the best” come together to share the latest in cosmetic dentistry. The AACD is the world’s largest organization dedicated to advancing excellence in comprehensive oral care. The AACD, a world-wide organization, fulfills its mission by offering superior educational opportunities, promoting and supporting the most respected accreditation credential, serving as a user-friendly and inviting forum for the creative exchange of knowledge and ideas, and providing accurate and useful information to the public.

For over 30 years, North Oaks dentist Dr. Steve Gorman has enjoyed restoring complex cases utilizing the marriage of function and the ever improving materials and techniques of implant and cosmetic dentistry.
In addition to Dr. Gorman’s prominent position within the AACD, he is a founding member and past president of the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (MACD). He is also a founding member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH). The mission of AAOSH is to improve the health of people everywhere by changing public and professional awareness of the mouth-body health links; Dr. Gorman believes understanding the mouth/body connection is an essential element of comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Gorman is also involved with the Spear Study Club Network, an organization meeting monthly to collaborate with other specialists in dentistry to analyze complex multidisciplinary treatment options. Between studying regularly with this group at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and Dr. Gorman’s presentations here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, he finds great reward and a sense of achievement through collaboration with the “best of the best”.

A Heart of Service
Dr. Gorman believes it is important to give back to his community. He volunteers at the Union Gospel Mission, provides probono treatment through the Minnesota Dental Association’s Donated Dental Services and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s program “Give Back a Smile” for survivors of physical abuse. In celebration of his 20 years in practice, and to honor his clients and their families battling cancer, Dr. Gorman and his team hosted a benefit which raised funds for Cancer Research at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Gorman and wife Connie have enjoyed raising their three grown daughters Emily, Anna, and Madeline. Emily recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame and is currently residing in Phoenix, working with the Teach for American Program. Anna is currently enrolled at Bethel University running cross country and playing softball, and Madeline will soon be finishing her career at Mounds View High School.
An avid athlete and former college baseball player, Dr. Gorman continues to play the game he’s loved since boyhood and has committed many years to coaching his daughters’ softball teams.
To round out an often time consuming and demanding career, Dr. Gorman enjoys his valuable and lasting friendships in Bible Study Fellowship and mentorship in the YoungLife organization.
