Transforming A Smile

"When you smile the world smiles back." There was never a more insightful truism spoken. So with this proverb in mind, Candy decided she wanted a smile that she felt comfortable showing the world.

Dr. Gorman was not only up for the challenge; he had the cosmetic expertise to transform Candy's dream into reality.

  • First, orthodontics was used to reposition the teeth and to enhance the ability to do the necessary restorative and aesthetic dentistry.
  • Second, Candy's gum tissue was gently re-contoured to set the "aesthetic stage" for replacing her missing tooth.
  • Finally, the aesthetic restorations were put in place. An All-ceramic bridge was permanently bonded into place to restore her missing tooth. A metal-free porcelain crown was used to cover her malformed tooth. And porcelain veneers were used on the teeth separating the bridgework and crown to guarantee consistency of tooth size, shape and color. All restorations were meticulously matched to the color of Candy's naturally white teeth.

Transforming A Life

Dr. Gorman won the Smile Gallery competition, not just for technical excellence, but because Candy's transformed smile appeared so natural and relaxed. Even her face looked different. The stress was gone, she looked comfortable, somehow brighter and more lit-up about life. This assessment was proved when Candy came in for her final follow-up examination and announced to Dr. Gorman and his staff, "My life is as changed as my smile—I have a new job...a new boyfriend."
