Client Comfort Services
Preparation for your Appointment
We recommend wearing comfortable loose fitting clothing and eating
a light breakfast before the visit to prevent you from becoming light
headed during the duration of your visit. Should you become chilled
we have warm blankets, pillows for neck or back support, a heated neck
roll and a heated massage pad.
During the Appointment
We will provide you with opportunities to stretch, time for restroom breaks, and juice and snacks to replenish you as needed.
To help whisk you away from the goings on around you we have a selection of CDs to listen to on a personal headphone system. Feel free to bring some of your favorite discs along as well.
Our newest feature is DVD movie glasses so that you may enjoy a feature film of your choice during longer visits. Feel free to bring a selection with you or let us know your preference the day before and we will have the movie ready when you arrive.
Options to help you relax
We have Nitrous Oxide Relaxation Gas and other anxiety reduction medications available to help calm and relax you during your visit. Nitrous Oxide is a combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide gases administered through a small nosepiece. Dr. Gorman can select a level that is comfortable for you. It will not put you to sleep but rather make you feel very relaxed. After the visit you will feel the same as you did before your appointment and you will be able to drive and return to your normal activities.
Other anxiety reduction options are oral medications given in very small doses the evening before your visit and will help you relax the muscles in your face in anticipation of a longer appointment. You will take a second dose of an alternate medication when you arrive for your visit. These medications are mild sedatives that will not put you to sleep completely but will require you to have someone drive you home after your visit.
A nice warm refreshing scented towel will be available at the end of your visit.
