Community Involvement

Dr. Steve GormanGiving Back Locally
Each year, Dr.Gorman and his team donate over 24 hours of care to a group of developmentally disabled adults in the northern metro community.  These individuals would normally receive care under Minnesota’s inadequate medical assistance program but the Gorman Center has generously decided to provide routine maintenance care for these individuals at no cost.  This great group of men and women has become dear and close; we enjoy their smiles and gratitude each time they visit our office.

Zoom Whitenting

Over the past years The Gorman Center has donated Zoom whitening procedures to various local charities for silent auction fundraisers, for schools, sports, churches, and specific people in need and hygiene supplies to The General Mills Veterans Club for care packages for deployed soldiers in Iraq.  From time to time, supplies, instruments and equipment have been donated for dental mission trips.

Donated Dental Services in association with the Minnesota Dental Association
Dr. Gorman is part of a group of  Minnesota dentists and dental laboratories who donate their time and expertise to help disabled, elderly and medically-compromised people who cannot afford much needed dental care.  Statewide the program has provided over $1.3 million worth of free dental care to over 450 Minnesotans.  The Gorman Center has contriubuted over $37,000 worth of care to date.  The office has also participated in the Minnesota Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile Program where free care is given to children with severe financial limits to access to care.

American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

Give Back A Smile in Association with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)
As a member of the AACD Dr. Gorman has agreed to restore the broken and damaged teeth of certain local survivors of domestic violence.  The applicants go through an extensive rehabilitation and interview process to prove that they have removed themselves from the abusive situation and are on the road to a new life;  the Give Back a Smile organization does the screening.  Survivors know that bruises and scars will fade but broken and missing teeth will not.  The program restores smiles at no cost to suvivors that would otherwise have no means.  New smiles, new jobs, new relationships, new lives follow and help erase the negative past.

Helping Fight Cancer
Dr. Steve GormanDr. Gorman has practiced aesthetic restorative dentistry for over 25 years.  Over this time he and staff have developed strong personal relationships with clients and have found many of them touched and impacted personally by cancer.  In conjunction with celebrating Dr. Gorman’s years of practice the Gorman Center teamed with the University of Minnesota Cancer Center to hold a silent and live auction and raised $20,000 + for the center focusing on the research of treatments, therapies and prevention of cancer.

Dr. Steve GormanOn Mother’s Day 2008 the team participated in The Race for the Cure as a group to build upon their commitment to their clients and supporting them and their families as they deal with cancer.
