When I was 14, I dove into a swimming pool and broke off my front teeth. The only car my mother had at home was our old Model T Ford convertible. Everyone was smiling and waving at us as we drove to the dentist’s office. I didn’t feel like smiling then and through many different, poorly designed sets of front teeth, I thought I’d never smile with confidence again.
