Hi, I’m Emma Claire, here at The Gorman Centre for Fine Dentistry in North Oaks, Minnesota, with our next frequently asked question.
Ken from Delwood asks, “why is it important that Dr. Gorman is accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry?”
Years ago when cosmetic dentistry was becoming more available, Dr. Gorman wanted to be at the forefront of this area of dentistry and felt that the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, otherwise known as the AACD, was and is the best international dental organization. Members stay one step ahead of their peers by keeping informed on trends and learning how advancements and new technologies can benefit their patients. Dr. Gorman has gone the extra mile within the organization becoming only one of ten accredited members in Minnesota. He is a past president of the local chapter.
The accreditation process ensures our patients of Dr. Gorman’s proficiency with the most advanced cosmetic techniques. Our patient, Dave, came to the Gorman Center wanting an expert treatment recommendation for his worn and chipped teeth. He trusted Dr. Gorman’s years of experience and respected his AACD credentials.
In Dave’s own words, “Dr. Gorman and his outstanding staff are flat-out the best from start to finish. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend Dr. Steve to anyone that wants the very best. For over 30 years I’ve been coming to Dr. Gorman and his wonderful staff. Dr. Gorman does beautiful work and is so professional. I’ve recommended Dr. Gorman to many of my friends over the years and they have all thanked me. In a rating scale of one to ten he and his team would get a 10-plus.”

Jim from Shoreview asks, “I have uneven tooth colors, some darker and some lighter. Can you help me even them out?”
You’re not alone, Jim. Many patients seek out Dr. Gorman because they are concerned about old fillings and crowns that make them look older and their smiles look patchy. They don’t know exactly what they want. But one thing they know for sure is that looking better in family photos is a priority.
With Dr. Gorman’s years of experience in smile design and planning, it is easy for our patients to visualize the possibilities.
Our patient Susan is often in the public eye and noticed that her teeth looked very dark in media photos. Sharing her thoughts with a friend, whose beautiful smile Susan admired, highly recommended Dr. Gorman. After ensuring that Susan’s oral health improved and carefully analyzing her bite function, Dr. Gorman designed a bright, dazzling but natural smile that Susan requested.
Listen to what Susan says about her experience at the Gorman Center: “I had my smile revolutionized, and got my husband to do the same. I am so glad. It is the best decision I have ever made for my health, wellbeing, and happiness. The staff at the Gorman Center are warm, engaging, and supportive. As a former dental phobic, I appreciate the sensitivity and skill of Dr. Gorman and his entire staff. I love going to the dentist now.”
Hi, Emma Claire here at the Gorman Center for Fine Dentistry in North Oaks, Minnesota. With our next frequently asked question, Jack from Edina asks, “I’ve been told I have gum disease, do I really have to treat it?”
That’s a good question Jack because there is more and more conflicting information available online today and patients are coming to us confused about how they should be treating their gum disease.
One thing is certain. It is important to treat gum disease promptly and thoroughly because good gum health is the foundation for all of your teeth, and disease in your mouth affects your body.
Here at The Gorman Center for Fine Dentistry, we have developed an effective treatment protocol based on university research and studies that is comfortable for our patients. We teach our patients about their key role in maintaining a healthy mouth at home, and we make it fun.
Our patient Bea knows how important it is to have healthy tissue around your teeth before receiving any dental treatment. Bea wanted to have straighter teeth. Her brother, a dental laboratory technician, understands the ins and outs of dentistry and knew that Dr. Gorman was the expert she could trust. Bea now has a natural, youthful smile.
Bea says it best, “Knowing the health of my mouth can affect the rest of my body, and having a family history of heart disease, I was concerned when I saw my bleeding gums. Dr. Gorman and his hygienist recommended laser therapy. I am pleased by the fantastic results and the visits were comfortable. It is great to hear good news when I come in for my routine visits. When I notice unhealthy mouths around me, I feel very fortunate for the care I have received. I am very happy with the overall look and feel of my mouth.”
What people don’t realize is that he also does a lot of regular dentistry as well!
Here at the Gorman Center for Fine Dentistry we see patients of all ages. We make sure that toddlers enjoy their first dental visits in the office while teenagers often need help and encouragement with their brushing habits, especially if they have braces. We also really enjoy our relationships with the elderly, helping them to maintain their oral health, which is often not only neglected, but also complicated by many medications and ongoing health issues.
Although Dr. Gorman is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has developed his reputation with complex dental care, what is most important for each of his patients is to achieve and maintain excellent oral health and sound bite function.
For everyone, a healthy mouth is the ultimate goal. Cosmetics and appearance are simply icing on the cake!

Hi, my name is Emma Claire and I’m here today at the Gorman Center for Fine Dentistry in North Oaks, Minnesota.
With our next frequently asked question, Kathy from Edina asks, “I’ve been looking for a cosmetic dentist for a long time. Can Dr. Gorman make my teeth look natural?”
One of our most common questions involves the desire for a natural looking, bright smile. That is why we have “Before” and “After” photos on our website to show how Dr. Gorman, with his years of experience, has developed his reputation.
Let’s take a look.
Heidi, from North Oaks, came to see Dr. Gorman with old metal dental work that was breaking down and an uneven gum line. Her new smile is metal free and her gum tissue is even. What a pleasing result!
Heidi says, “Not only do I have a natural smile, but I have a healthy smile. Thank you Dr. Gorman.”
Scott from Maple Grove did not like his worn, small, and poorly spaced teeth. Also, his bite was not comfortable. Now, as you can see, his porcelain veneers look very natural, and he smiles easily.
He says it well, “Dr. Gorman and his staff always put me first. Thanks for a great smile.”
Pam from Minneapolis came to Dr. Gorman concerned about the dark edges around her fillings and wanted a natural result that would last a long time. Dr. Gorman carefully planned and created a solid bite and long lasting restorations that will help her to keep her mouth healthy.
In her own words, Pam says, “The Gorman Center helped me to see how my oral health is connected to my overall health.”
Ed, from St. Paul, had extensive dental work in the past and was in need of frequent repair. He wanted a complete and thorough plan, and Dr. Gorman’s experience really paid off for Ed with a well thought out and natural looking full mouth rehabilitation.
Listen to what Ed has to say about his experience at the Gorman Center, “I’ve never had a doctor or staff care about me so much as a patient. Thanks Dr. Gorman!”
Can I trust that the entire staff will understand my dental anxiety?
Hi, I’m Emma Claire, here at the Gorman Center for Fine Dentistry in North Oaks, Minnesota.
With our next frequently asked question, Gina asks,
“I know that I want Dr. Gorman to be my dentist, but how can I be sure that his staff will understand my dental fears and anxiety that have kept me from coming in for so long?”
Great question, Gina.
Dr. Gorman has many patients who had put off their dental visits and had ignored their dental needs for a very long time.
We have a fine-tuned system here at our office, whereby every staff member has complete knowledge and awareness of each patient so that no matter who you interact with they will put your comfort first.
For example, let’s take a look at one of our patients, Phyllis, from Eden Prairie, who came to us knowing she wanted veneers or crowns and whiter teeth, but was very apprehensive.
Turns out, Phyllis relaxed and actually enjoyed her visits and getting to know the staff.
In fact, she told us “To laugh really big and smile freely is such a joy.”
As you can see, her outcome is stunning and she loves her new smile.
Listen to what Phyllis says.
“I am filled with thankfulness for all you have done for me, the genuine care and concern for human kindness given by you and all your staff speaks volumes. Add that to the expertise and knowledge of your chosen profession deserves the highest of praise and gratitude”.
